Origin Agritech has successfully integrated a gene from wild maize into one of its elite commercial maize hybrids, with this genetic modification reportedly enabling higher yields through improved plant type and photosynthetic efficiency. Origin Agritech expects the new hybrid to replace its current version within two years.
