Peru Extends GMO Moratorium by 15 Years

The Peruvian Congress has reportedly renewed its ban on genetically modified organisms (GMOs) until December 21st, 2035, through the approval of Law 31111. The new law extends Peru’s moratorium on the import and production of GMOs in the country for a further 15 years. Law 31111 amends the previous Law 29811, which established the initial moratorium in 2011.
