Syngenta and MS Technologies have entered into an agreement to develop a new 4-way herbicide-tolerant (HT) soybean trait stack. The new trait stack will combine the FG72 trait (formerly marketed as GT27) with the Enlist E3 event to confer tolerance to glyphosate, glufosinate, 2,4-D herbicides and multiple HPPD inhibitor herbicides, including mesotrione, isoxaflutole and bicyclopyrone. The companies plan to market the trait stack through Syngenta seed brands, Stine Seed Company and others. Pending regulatory approvals, initial commercial introduction is expected in 2028, with broad market availability anticipated in 2029.
