Turkey Approves GM Traits for Feed Use

JANUARY 29, 2021

The Turkish Biosafety Board has approved three traits and their products for feed use: the soybean traits DP305423 and FG72, and the maize trait MON 87427. Corteva’s DP305423 soybeans, marketed as Treus or Plenish, have been genetically modified to possess a high oleic acid and reduced linoleic acid profile, as well as tolerance to sulfonylurea–based herbicides. BASF’s FG27 soybean trait, marketed as GT27 (formerly Balance GT), confers tolerance to glyphosate and HPPD herbicides. Maize varieties containing the event MON 87427, marketed as Roundup Ready, possess tolerance to glyphosate.
