Yield10 Bioscience has received approval from the USDA-APHIS for its stacked herbicide tolerant Camelina sativa (Camelina), having applied for a Regulatory Status Review with the USDA-APHIS Biotechnology Regulatory Services earlier this year (see AgbioNews Jul 27, 2023). Yield10 is developing stacked herbicide tolerant camelina varieties with tolerance to the application of glufosinate as well as tolerance to soil residues of Group 2 herbicides, specifically including tolerance to both imidazolinones and sulfonylureas. The company also intends to develop and commercialise spring and winter Camelina varieties with stacked herbicide tolerance traits to achieve large-acreage adoption of the crop in North America.
