Yield10 Bioscience Signs Camelina Licensing Agreement with Rothamsted Research
Yield10 Bioscience has exercised its option to finalise an exclusive global, commercial license to advanced omega-3 production technology from UK-based Rothamsted Research as part of a collaboration established in 2020. Through the terms of the agreement, Yield10 will have exclusive access to camelina varieties developed by Rothamsted that have been enhanced to produce the eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) component of omega-3 oil. Yield10 hopes to further enhance the crop by incorporating herbicide tolerance and performance traits before commercialisation.
Yield10 recently submitted a Regulation Status Review in the USA for its camelina varieties (see AgbioNews Jul 27, 2023) and has advanced its herbicide tolerance programme (AgbioNews Aug 3, 2023).
