Argentina Approves Two Corteva GM Maize Traits

OCTOBER 24, 2024

Argentina has approved the commercialisation of Corteva’s stacked maize events DP910521 and DAS1131, which have been genetically modified for herbicide tolerance and insect resistance. The DP910521 event confers resistance against certain lepidopteran insect pests as well as tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate through the expression of the Cry1B.34, phosphinothricin acetyltransferase (PAT), and phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) proteins. DAS1131 maize has been genetically modified to express the Cry1Da2 protein for protection against certain susceptible lepidopteran pests and the DGT-28 EPSPS protein for tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate.
