Bayer has announced the commercial release of herbicide-tolerant XtendFlex cotton in Australia, while XtendiMax 2 Herbicide with VapourGrip Technology (dicamba) has gained approval for over-the-top use in XtendFlex cotton. XtendFlex herbicide tolerance technology confers tolerance to glyphosate, dicamba and glufosinate-ammonium herbicides.

XtendFlex cotton, along with XtendiMax 2 Herbicide with VapourGrip Technology, will be made available for the 2024/25 cotton season. In 2023, Bayer received an experimental trial authorisation in Australia to treat up to 50,000 hectares of herbicide-tolerant XtendFlex cotton up to 31st January 2024 (see AgbioNews Oct 17, 2023).
