Following an initial launch in Argentina in 2022, Bioceres Crop Solutions is to expand the availability of its drought-tolerant genetically modified HB4 wheat in the country this year. In 2022, HB4 wheat was cultivated on approximately 53,000 hectares through direct private deals with farmers. Following the recent approval for cultivation in Brazil (see AgbioNews 6 Mar, 2023), the company intends to partner with seed multipliers to scale the product in preparation for increased demand as Brazil prepares to begin large-scale testing of the product over the next four years.
