EU Approves GM Crops for Food and Feed Uses

FEBRUARY 24, 2023

The European Commission has authorised two genetically modified (GM) crops for food and feed use, excluding cultivation. The authority has provided import approval of Bayer's dicamba-tolerant MON 94100 oilseed rape and has also renewed the authorisation of BASF's glufosinate-tolerant A5547-127 (LibertyLink) soybean. The authorisations are valid for 10 years, with any products produced from these crops to be subject to the EU’s labelling and traceability rules.
